PURPOSE OF POSITION
The general ledger account is responsible for general ledger maintenance, assisting and evaluating the effectiveness of the internal control systems, accounting, reporting of special revenue funds, and performing internal audits and assisting accounting staff with other responsibilities along with all payroll responsibilities.
The General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with a significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting the controller in conducting key activities such as Month-end and Quarter-End close, Fixed Assets, account Reconciliations and Audits.
KEY RESULT AREAS
In this role, you'll be utilizing your technical accounting expertise to provide the following support:

Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing

Quarterly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis

Monthly expense variance analysis
-
Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting

Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies

Manage Fixed Assets
-
Balance sheet accounts reconciliations
-
Property, sales and use tax and franchise tax returns
-
Oracle implementation team member
-
Interface with management in various departments, including engineering, sales operations, IT and legal.

Prepare monthly journal entries such as Cash, Payroll, Benefits, Prepaid, In-kind, Expense Allocations & Revenue.

Assist with Balance Sheet preparation and Monthly Account Reconciliations.

Maintain and update Fixed Assets spreadsheet.

Review cash deposits and prepare cash receipt journal entries.

File and maintain all journal entries for internal and audit purposes.

Distribute monthly financials.

Assist in automating processes and procedures.
-
Assist with financial audits and tax return paperwork.

Performs other duties as assigned by Controller.

Backup Accounting Specialist with duties.
Education:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field.
Experience:
-
At least three years general ledger accounting experience is required and strong technical accounting background.
Languages:
-
Fluent in written and spoken English. Written an spoken Arabic language capability is desirable.
