At Diaverum, we are looking for a business-oriented and hands-on HR Director to lead our HR function in Brazil. This role is critical in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while ensuring a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment.

Diaverum Brazil ranks first in the number of patients within the Diaverum group and is the second-largest player in the Brazilian market. The company provides renal services through its own clinics and as a third-party provider for hospitals, treating 4,500 chronic patients across 12 clinics, performing 75,000 treatments per month. Headquartered in São Paulo, its clinics are located in the São Paulo metropolitan region and the state of Sergipe, while also serving hospitals in São Paulo, Sergipe, Bahia, and João Pessoa. Diaverum Brazil has a team of 1,200 direct employees and 200 contracted nephrologists. The HR team consists of 16 members, with two based at the headquarters and the rest distributed across the clinics. With an average business growth of over 30% per year, the company is currently developing and deploying HR IT systems in a dynamic, flexible, and multidisciplinary environment.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key member of the Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the HR strategy, talent development, employee relations, and compliance with local labour laws , ensuring alignment with global HR standards 🌍 and company goals.

Reporting to the Country Manager Brazil this role is based in São Paulo (headquarters in the Vila Olímpia neighborhood) and requires between 20% and 40% local travel.

💡Strategy & Organization

  • Develop and implement a business-driven HR strategy, supporting the organizational structure with leadership.
  • Act as an ambassador and change agent, ensuring that Diaverum’s culture and values are a living reality.
  • Represent HR in the Country Management Team and Brazil in the global HR team, contributing to continuous improvement projects.

👥 Operational HR

  • Be a visible and hands-on partner for senior leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Ensure labour law compliance and provide guidance on employment matters.
  • Equip clinic managers with HR tools to become strong “people managers.”
  • Support in talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and development.
  • Oversee payroll, contracts, and HR administration.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and performance reviews.
  • Support M&A activities, ensuring a seamless HR operational transition.

📊HR Controlling & Reporting

  • Lead workforce planning, ensuring talent attraction and retention.
  • Contribute to budget planning and labour efficiency initiatives with Finance and Operations.
  • Measure and report on key HR data to drive decision-making.

🛠HR Processes & Tools

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with corporate standards.
  • Ensure HR tools are available and used effectively across the business.
  • Educate managers and employees on HR processes, including creating employee handbooks and onboarding materials.

🚀People & Organizational Development

  • Lead organizational design initiatives with the management team.
  • Drive learning & development, ensuring training programs support business needs.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, ensuring a strong integration into Diaverum’s culture and values.
  • Lead succession planning for key management roles and specialists.
  • Implement the annual performance appraisal process, ensuring clear goal setting and development plans.
  • Support restructuring initiatives to optimize the organization’s effectiveness.

ABOUT YOU

You have 8-10 years of experience in HR across multiple disciplines and a proven track record in leading change within multilevel organizations. Your strong business acumen allows you to align HR strategies with company goals, and you have an in-depth understanding of Brazilian labour law . You have worked in an international environment 🌍, and if you have experience in the healthcare industry, that’s a big plus. You hold a university degree in HR, Finance, or a related field, and you are fluent in English. You are comfortable using MS Office and other HR tools to support business operations.

You are a customer-focused HR leader with strong relationship-building skills 🤝. You take a hands-on approach, ensuring HR strategies are not only well-designed but also effectively executed. Your communication, listening, and coaching skills allow you to support both employees and managers, creating a positive and productive work environment. As a change agent, you have the ability to lead HR transformations and integration processes, making a real impact on the business. You have a continuous improvement mindset, always striving to optimize processes and enhance the employee experience.
