HR Director Chile
At Diaverum, our teams make a direct difference to the lives of people living with kidney disease. We are looking for an HR Director to lead our people agenda in Chile, strengthening the organisation and the leadership capabilities that support high-quality patient care.
About the role
Reporting to the Country Managing Director and serving on the Executive Leadership Team, you will help shape business decisions and lead the HR function across our national clinic network.
You will lead the HR team and work closely with clinical, operational and financial leaders to align organisational structures, staffing and leadership development with business needs. The role combines strategic judgement with regular involvement in the practical realities of our clinics.
The role is based in Santiago (Las Condes) and requires regular travel to clinics across Chile.
What you will lead
- Define and execute the country HR strategy, translating business priorities into clear people plans and contributing to decisions on organisational capability and resource allocation.
- Strengthen organisational structures, role definitions and selection standards so that the right people are in the right roles across the network.
- Lead workforce planning with Operations, Finance and clinical leadership, aligning staffing models and working hours with service needs and sustainable labour costs.
- Develop structured recruitment processes that deliver timely hiring of qualified professionals across geographically dispersed locations.
- Build the capabilities of clinic administrators, nursing coordinators and other leaders through development programmes, performance management and practical coaching.
- Lead labour relations and collective bargaining, building constructive union relationships and ensuring consistent compliance with Chilean labour regulations and agreements.
- Ensure reliable HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including employment contracts, documentation, onboarding, payroll, compensation and benefits.
- Promote a culture of accountability and collaboration, strengthening employee engagement and turning feedback into actions that leaders follow through on.
- Lead the digitalisation and automation of HR processes, ensuring reliable, integrated data and effective adoption of HR and staff scheduling systems.
- Use workforce metrics and performance indicators to identify priorities, guide decisions and track the impact of actions on staffing, absenteeism, turnover and labour efficiency.
What you will bring
- At least 8 years of experience across HR disciplines, including senior responsibility for leading an HR function and developing HR teams.
- A strong HR leadership background in organisations where service delivery, workforce management and operational performance are central to the business.
- Experience in a geographically distributed or multi-site environment. Healthcare experience is desirable; relevant backgrounds also include retail, logistics, hospitality and other service-intensive sectors.
- A track record of building or strengthening HR functions in organisations undergoing growth or transformation.
- Strong business acumen, including an understanding of how staffing, leadership and people practices affect operational and financial performance.
- Proven experience in unionised environments, including collective bargaining and day-to-day labour relations in Chile.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using HR metrics and workforce data to make practical decisions, with experience improving processes and adopting digital tools.
- A pragmatic, hands-on leadership style, with the credibility to influence senior colleagues, coach managers and build trust with employees.
- Experience working with corporate standards and international stakeholders, combined with the judgement to adapt effectively to local operational needs.
- A university degree in HR, Business Management, Finance or a related field, and fluency in written and spoken English.
If you would like to lead the people agenda for a healthcare organisation where your work supports the teams caring for patients every day, we would love to hear from you.
